IRS Web Site Helps Contractors

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) has joined forces with the Internal Revenue Service’s Small Business/Self-Employed Division to develop a Web site that helps contractors comprehend the intricacies of the tax code.

The site, at www.irs.gov/smallbiz/construction/index.htm, provides:
  • Tax tips
  • Advice on how to avoid common mistakes
  • Audit technique guides
  • A calendar of important tax due dates and deadlines
  • Construction industry trends and statistics
  • Construction news and events

Although the site is an excellent source for keeping up to date on tax issues, it isn’t a substitute for a knowledgeable tax advisor.
